Our client, a large, well-established and highly regarded nursing home in County Cork, is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing to lead their clinical team and drive excellence in resident care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong clinical leadership and strategic direction for the nursing home.
- Ensure the highest standards of clinical care and regulatory compliance, in line with HIQA standards and company policies.
- Conduct regular internal audits, reviewing outcomes and implementing continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead the induction, training and ongoing development of staff, promoting best practice across the team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and innovative working environment for all clinical staff.
- Chair and facilitate regular communication meetings with the clinical team to support engagement and quality improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local community groups and external agencies, encouraging resident participation in community activities.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to maintain a strong and positive presence within the local community.
- Ensure the effective implementation of Health & Safety policies, safeguarding residents, staff and visitors.
- Oversee fire safety training, evacuation procedures, and emergency planning.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness and environmental safety within the home.
- Ensure a preventative maintenance programme is implemented and maintained.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection and development of staff.
- Conduct training needs analysis to support ongoing staff development.
- Ensure that clinical practice consistently meets all regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ management experience within the last 6 years in care of the older person.
- Post-registration management qualification in healthcare or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent decision-making ability.
- Ability to build, lead and motivate a high-performing team.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to continuous improvement and quality care.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €85,000.00-€140,015.00 per year
